Kathryn Lewis is a Los Angeles based textile artist. An expert dyer, she is a member of local 705 in LA and local 764 in NY. She has been working as a professional dyer, painter and costume ager since 2015. As head dyer, her credits include Killers of the Flower Moon, Skeleton Crew, Guardians of the Galaxy Part 3 and Horizon: An American Saga Part 2. From 2016 to 2019 she was the dyer at the New York City Ballet. Prior to that, Kathryn was a colorist at Freepeople where she developed seasonal color palettes for the brand and served as the company’s in house dyer. An expert in natural and synthetic dyes, Kathryn graduated with distinction from the MA Textile Design program at the Chelsea College of Art + Design in 2013. She spent two years studying textile dyeing and crafts in India prior to joining Chelsea. She has worked with the brands Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Marchesa and Tiffany to name a few; with costume designers across dance, theatre and film and with many musicians including Beyonce, Madonna, and Solange.
